Ear Infection :(

Madelyn was a little fussier over Labor Day weekend, just not herself but still pretty happy. She screamed for the 1st 20-25 minutes of our ride home. That isn’t like her at all but I figured she was tired.

Then she screamed when I picked her up from daycare on 9/6 and put her in the carseat. On 9/7 she screamed in the morning which is not like her at all as she is sooooo happy in the mornings and always has tons of smiles. Anytime we tried to put her down (lay her flat) she screamed.

I noticed a little rash on her body over the weekend so when it wasn’t any better on Wednesday I figured it was time to take her to the doctor. My mom was watching her that day so she took her to the doctor. The doctor wasn’t concerned about the rash but said she had an ear infection……which would explain her behavior in the days prior. She had tugged on her ear one time when we were in Iowa (both Emily & I noticed it) but she never did it again so I figured it was just a fluke. I’ll know for next time!

I had quite a few ear infections when I was a baby/child and eventually had tubes put in my ears so unfortunately I have a feeling we may be heading down that road with Madelyn too.

1st Overnight without Madelyn & Labor Day Weekend

Madelyn went to my parent’s house on Friday 9/2. Ryan & I had our 1st overnight without Madelyn. I definitely had mixed emotions……always love date night but we missed our little munchkin so much!

We went to Manny’s (steakhouse in downtown Minneapolis) for dinner. Ryan got a gift card from work for being the closest to guess the date of their first sale. Super exciting for two reasons…..we got to have an absolutely delicious meal for free on our date night and it’s a huge step for Interrad (Ryan’s company)!

I got 9.5 hours of sleep that night! It was amazing and so refreshing although it wasn’t the same without Madelyn’s smiles & stories (she talks/jabbers all the time) in the morning.

We picked her up on our way to Iowa. Ryan has one of his Fantasy Football Drafts every year over Labor Day weekend. It was fun to see Grandpa Kenny & Grandma Emily! Grandpa Kenny made a marble machine and Madelyn is absolutely fascinated by it. She just stares at it as the marbles drop and move all over the place. It’s loud and there is lots of movement…..Madelyn’s ideal world!

We went out for pizza on Saturday night and then went to church on Sunday. Grandma Emily loved sharing Madelyn with all her friends!
