Cousins!
Here is a rare picture of the Bishop cousins all sitting on their own and looking at the camera! One day we will get all for sitting on their own, looking at the camera AND smiling! These kids have so much fun together!

3 year & 15 month dr appts
It worked out well that we could have Madelyn's 3 year and Jack's 15 month dr appts at the same time. Both kids are doing great and in the 90% percentile for most things. Our pediatrician is retiring on 5/1/14 so this was our last appointment with her. Thankfully there are so many great drs at this clinic so we are in good hands!
Madelyn's stats: 40 in (95%); 37.2 lbs (90%), BMI 16.3 (50-75%), blood pressure 88/56
Many people think Madelyn is older than 3. In fact the nurse came back in after her appointment and made the comment that she couldn't find a form and she didn't know where the dr put it. After looking through her file for a few minutes I asked what from she was talking about. She said the physical form. I asked what that was and she said it's for 4 yr olds - they complete a physical form for 4 year olds. I said well she's only 3 so that's why you can't find it. She was stunned - she couldn't believe Madelyn just turned 3.
Madelyn is at such a fun age! She loves Jack and loves helping him as he begins to explore this world. Madelyn also loves being a teacher. It's so fun to listen to her say things from school. It's like you can picture her day and what they do. She will ask Ryan, Jack and me to sit on the group mat. Jack doesn't stay on the group mat so then Jack gets in trouble for not being a good listener. I usually get 2 stickers because she says I'm a good listener :) A couple of her favorite things to do is to put puzzles together and sing songs!
Jack's stats: 32 1/2 in (85-90%); 26# 6 oz (90%), head size 47 cm (50-75%)
Jack started walking and he is a new kid! He is so much happier and just loves cruising around. He is aware of his surroundings and walks around things (Madelyn still doesn't always look where she's going and then ends up tripping on things and wonders why!). Jack understands so much of what we say and he is getting better at communicating with us…..either sign language, pointing or walking where he wants to go (his high chair when he's hungry, his crib when he's tired). Jack loves to read books, he favorite words are bye-bye, ball and bubbles and he loves his friends at school. His teachers tell us he will give hugs, bring toys to his friends and pat them on the back. We are working on cutting back the time he has his paci because when he goes to the next room at daycare they only get it at nap time. Jack does pretty well and now he understands that he gets his paci at nap and night time so he will go get his sleep sack, lay it on the ground and then lay on it. It's the cutest thing - how do you not give into this?

Easter 2014
We went to Owatonna on Saturday to celebrate Easter with my family. There is an Easter egg hunt put on by one of the local churches. This year it was pretty chaotic and there were tons of kids inside (for the 2 & 3 year old hunt) so it was hard for the kids to get many eggs. Thankfully Nora & Madelyn don't get it yet so that was fine. Bishop's egg hunt was outside which was so much better! Bishop did so well and got a ton of eggs. The sweetest part was he was sharing with Nora after he was done :) He just melts your heart!
We went back to my parent's house, had lunch, played outside and then went to visit Grandma Marlys. It's always good to see her! There was an Easter egg hunt at her place and the kids had a blast! That was much more their style. Only a few kids and TONS of eggs! Very cool that the care facility does these kinds of activities!
Easter morning we went to church. I figured since we were going to the 8:00 service (and there were 5 other services that morning) we wouldn't have to get there early. We ended up sitting in the back on folding chairs which turned out to be ok as the kids had room to play, run and for awhile it was only me in the church anyways :) After church the Papke's came over for lunch and the kids played. It was fun to see them and celebrate Easter with their family! I realized I didn't get any pictures when they were here…..probably because we had 5 kids under 5 running around! Such fun!

We went to Owatonna Shoe to get Madelyn some new tennis shoes. Her favorite part is riding the horsy! Best part is it still only cost a penny to ride! |

Palm Sunday and Madelyn's Birthday
Madelyn's class sang in church on Palm Sunday. There was a real live donkey in church which the kids thought was pretty cool. I wasn't sure how Madelyn (and the rest of the 2 year olds) would do in front of the church but they did great and even sang a couple words! Then we had the Bishop's over to celebrate her birthday as Jack was feeling better. It a was a fun weekend of celebrating!! Love our families!
Madelyn's specific cake request: Minnie Mouse, pink & purple and lots of sprinkles! I think they nailed it! :) |

Madelyn is 3!!!
Love her smile - can't believe she is 3! |
The hardest part was that Madelyn was so excited for her birthday. This is the first year she realized what her birthday meant and she had been talking about it for weeks. The part that crushed me was on Saturday morning when Madelyn taking the paper plates and putting them on the table and she says "am I going to have lots of people come to my birthday?" Uncle Chris had left very early so he ended up coming up anyways so we celebrated with the Bormann's on Saturday and decided to celebrate with the Bishop's on Sunday. Madelyn loved every minute of her birthday weekend!
These 2 love each other so much! |

Getting ready to blow out her candles. We used Grandma's desserts as the cake was coming with my parents so it didn't arrive until Sunday. |
