We had Madelyn's 6 month check up (ended up being closer to her 7 month check up) last week. We had been to the dr at the beginning of October for a recheck of her ears. I didn't realize that the infant flu shot consists of 2 shots so we ended up getting her 1st flu shot beginning of October and then we had to wait 30 day for the next shot......so we decided to push out her 6 month appt so we could get the 2nd flu shot and not have to make extra trips to the dr.
Madelyn is doing great! So hard to believe that she is already 7 months old! She is 28.25 inches long (>97%) and 19 lbs 12 oz (97%).
She started eating baby food about a month ago. She wasn't really excited about it at first but now she will eat almost all foods. She will eat anything at daycare but she is more picky at home. That's not the only thing she does better with at daycare! She really likes carrots, sweet potatoes/corn, bananas. We gave her an actual banana last week and she did pretty well.
She is sitting on her own although she topples over whenever she gets excited and turns quickly or reaches for a toy. She isn't crawling although she gets really frustrated when she is on her tummy as she is making the motion that she wants to crawl but then she resorts to rolling. She would much rather stand - she has started taking some steps. She holds onto a walker and takes a couple steps behind it. She is so proud of herself - we just love watching her learn! She is very inquisitive.
Ryan has been working on putting up a new backsplash in our kitchen. He always a great job with this kind of stuff and he says he loves it so that's even better! It turned out great!!! We love it. All the tiles are up and he only has 1 wall left to grout/seal. Then he'll put up the lights and it will be all done.
