1st Haircut

Today we took Madelyn to get her 1st haircut.  We didn't know what to expect.  Since Madelyn isn't always great at doing new things I had a feeling it could be a disaster.  Luckily I was wrong!  Madelyn did awesome!

We went to Snip-its in Maple Grove.  The environment is very kid friendly and Madelyn had a blast playing around.  They said to try having Madelyn sit by herself in the chair (which I was almost sure wouldn't work but it did!).  She had some animal crackers, watched a cartoon and before she/we knew, she was done!

So glad the first time went well!  Here's to hoping that the next time is just as smooth & successful!

Before the haircut......coloring and all smiles!

Eating my animal crackers....

and watching cartoons

Not so sure but still no tears

Got a little hair in my eyes

All done!  And I am playing with my prize - a pinwheel!

Crazy Hair Day

Tuesday was crazy hair day at school.  Madelyn's favorite teacher did her hair and I thought it was absolutely adorable!!  If only Madelyn would let me put just one pony tail in her hair.  Here are a few pictures to remember the fun day.......

Playing with Grandma Emily

Last weekend Grandma Emily came up and spent the weekend with us/Madelyn.  Madelyn didn't have daycare on Friday (closed for teacher in-service) so she spent the day with Grandma Emily.  They both had a blast!  Madelyn was in heaven the whole time!

They read books (the same book/stories over and over and over and over again!), looked at puppies on the iPad, played downstairs, helped Grandma garden, ran around, laughed and cuddled!

I found a cute puppy cupcake and had to get it for Madelyn.  She is obsessed with puppies - everything is a puppy and when she sees a real puppy she lights up!

Puppy cupcake!

Always reading

So happy to be with Grandma!
Plus Grandma ALWAYS gets such wonderful, smiley pictures of Madelyn!

Making progress - no tears and the hood is up!

Taking notes from Grandma - mommy needs lots of help with gardening!

So happy to be helping!

On Saturday Ryan & I painted Baby Bormann's room so it was really nice that Madelyn had Grandma to play with.

You can't really tell but we painted the room a light blue.
Now I have to figure out some decorating!
Such a fun and productive weekend for all of us!  We really enjoyed having Grandma here and can't wait to see the rest of the Bormann's at Thanksgiving!

18 Months

Our happy, healthy little girl!
This week Madelyn had her 18 month check up.  She is doing great!  No ear infections - yay!!  Her ears are clear and tubes are in place.

Height: 35 inches (97%+)
Weight: 29 lbs 1 oz (95%)
Head Size: 49.2 cm (97%)

Madelyn is all over the place these days.  She is not one to sit still.  She climbs up & down the stairs.  I'm still a little nervous when she comes down because she isn't completely stable and one of these times she is going to be so excited that she trips and comes tumbling down!  She is saying more and more words and even putting some words together.  Night Night Mommy (one of my favorites as she waves when I leave the room).  She loves being a helper.  She now throws things in the garbage - we just have to keep an eye on what she is throwing away!  She likes to eat at the table with us.  She still sits in her high chair but doesn't use the tray anymore.  She's growing up so fast!

Madelyn developed a yeast infection a week or so ago from an antibiotic she was on for pink eye/sinus infection.  This was our first experience with a yeast infection which I am actually surprised about since she has been on antibiotics for most of her life (due to ear infections).  It was getting worse & worse (even with the creams, frequent diaper changes, not using wipes).  As soon as she stopped the antibiotic it cleared up, almost instantly!  Good to know for future!

These are just some of my favorite pictures from this age!

Apple Jacks with the Froehle's

Today we met up with the Froehle's at Apple Jacks!  We had a great time!!!  Our family went there in September but it was so much more fun to be there with the Froehle's!

There are so many fun things to do at Apple Jacks.  Riding the ponies, petting zoo, going down the slide, riding in a wagon, sampling apples, looking at the police car (might have been one of the highlights!), corn pit and just being free to run all over the place!

Madelyn always has a blast with her cousins!  She loves chasing Bishop and doing all the fun things that he does.  Plus she has "baby" Nora to give hugs & kisses.  We can't for next year when Nora will be running around the pumpkin patch with Bishop & Madelyn and Baby Boy Bormann will be here to experience the fun times!

These two are so cute together!

And again!  This is so fun!

Madelyn had a permanent smile on her face!
She just loves being with her cousin Bishop!
