Pedal bike!

Madelyn has been working on riding the balance bike we got her last year.  Last summer she wasn't at all interested in the bike.  I don't think she was on the bike for more than 10 minutes (combined time) over the course of the summer.

This spring/summer has been a different story.  She loves riding and has gotten really good at balancing.  She goes down our driveway which has a decent incline and rides into the cul-de-sac.  I get nervous watching her but she does great!  A few weeks ago she asked when she was going to get a pedal bike.  Since she's been so interested we asked to use my nephew's pedal bike.  Carla brought over Bishop's bike less than 2 weeks ago.  Madelyn has been practicing and started biking on her own last night.  It was amazing!  The most challenging part for her was figuring out how to keep pedaling - she would go backwards on the pedals and then she would just stop pedaling.  Once she got the hang of pedaling forward she took off.  Both Ryan & I were shocked at how quickly she picked it up and how much she loves it!  We are so proud of her!

She asks to bike all the time.  A girl after her daddy's heart for sure!
