We went to Owatonna around noon on Friday, the 7th as the induction ceremony started at 4:00. It was a very special day and one that I will never forget. My family was all there to support me like they have ALWAYS been - I am truly blessed! Ryan & Madelyn, my parents, my sister & her family, all four of my grandparents. My tennis coach, Mr. Phillips, my basketball coach, Mr. Olson and our trainer, TC, were also there.
It was fun to be back at the high school. I haven't been back to OHS for a long, long time.......probably at least 13-14 years. Some things have changed, while others parts are still the same. It was fun to reconnect with other OHS coaches, staff, faculty and members of the community.
After the induction ceremony, they had a BBQ before the football game. Then the OHS football team played Albert Lea and there was a small ceremony at halftime of the football game.
We ended up leaving after halftime as Madelyn was ready for bed. Ryan & I were both so impressed with how well she did considering it was a busy day, out of any type of routine and of course this was one of the weekends in Sept when it was pretty chilly outside.
After the football game there was a get together at Torey's, which is just down the street from my parents house. Ryan, Carla & Luke went and then my very dear friend Stacey came too! So fun to be able to catch up!
My one regret from the day was that we didn't get many pictures :( I wish I could have gotten pictures with everyone who made the day so special for me. The day went so fast that it was 11:30 pm before I knew it. It's busy, yet so fun, with all the kids so we'll just get pictures at our next event!
