5 Years!

On Friday we celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary.  I can't believe it's been 5 years but I honestly can't remember my life without Ryan.  He is my everything and I will be forever thankful to call him my husband!  He has given me the life I always dreamed of living!

These 5 years have been filled with so many blessings!  Madelyn, Jack, our nephew Bishop, niece Nora, being a part of the Bormann family, a new house, a new job for Ryan, a flexible job for me and as much travel as you can do while being pregnant and/or nursing for 3.5 of the 5 years!  We know we are beyond blessed and we do our best to soak in as much of this life as we can.

My parents took the kids for the weekend so we could have the weekend to ourselves!  We haven't been away from the kids since our Arizona trip in February so it was a nice little weekend.  We went Axel's in Loretto on Friday night.  The food was delicious and we both left feeling sick from overeating!  We haven't been out to eat at a sit-down restaurant for a long, long time.  It was heavenly!

On Saturday we did some work around the house and then we went to Bulldogs in NE Mpls for burgers at night.  Another amazing meal and now we are starting to get used to going out to eat again :) We walked around St. Anthony Main and just enjoyed the gorgeous night.

We picked up the kids this morning.  We were all excited to see each other!  Our house was so quiet this weekend!  It was a fun afternoon playing with the kids.

Everyone says the years just go by faster and faster and it is so true!  We can't wait to see what the next years have in store for us!  I love you Ryan!!!!

18 Months

It is so hard to believe that Jack is 18 months old already!  He has really taken off these past couple months…..since he moved up to the toddler room.  He loves his teachers and he says new words every day.  It's getting easier to understand him which helps but he also gets very frustrated when he doesn't get what he wants.

We had his 18 month appointment yesterday.  We have a new doctor.  Our previous dr retired on May 1st.  We are now seeing Dr. Gears.  Jack actually saw Dr. Gears more times in his 1st year of life at Ready Care than he saw Dr. Dahlgren.  Dr. Gears knows our history and our family and we are excited we can transition to her.

Jack's doing great.  Nothing to be concerned about.  He's a happy, healthy toddler!  His ears look great and the tubes are in place.  Tubes have been a godsend for our children.  He hated getting weighed, measured, examined.  He screamed almost the whole time we were there.  He recovered the quickest after his shots.  I think he was happy because we told him we were going home.  He hopped down and started walking (almost running) to the door.  So thankful for uneventful dr visits!

Jack's stats…..
Height: 34 in (93%)
Weight: 28 lbs (90%)

Jack started reading "Be the Boss of Your Stress" before his appointment.
He's getting a jump on his future :)

Meet in Mankato

On Saturday we met Ryan's parents in Mankato at Sibley Park.  It's always a treat to spend time with Grandpa and Grandma!  This has become our go-to meeting point.  It has so many fun things for the kids and we all have a great time!  The kids loved swinging, playing on the playground, petting different animals, looking at the fish and just running around outside.  The highlight for this trip might have been the hand washing stations!  The kids couldn't get enough of the water!

We picked up pizza for lunch and had a picnic in the park.  To end the afternoon we stopped for ice cream.  The kids were both exhausted - they were asleep before we got out of Mankato!  Here are some pictures from our afternoon:

Maple Grove Days

We went to Maple Grove Days with the McCormick's on Saturday.  This is becoming an annual tradition (this was year #2) which is so fun!  They have an all you can eat corn feed on Saturday night along with a petting zoo, kid games, rides, fair food and a park (the park is part of the MG Community Center but that might have been the highlight for the kids!).  There was a jumpy house for Jack's age which was cool.  He was hesitant at first but then he loved it…..of course he loved it, he's our jumping Jack!  Madelyn and the girls had a great time in their jumpy house too!

We have so much fun with the McCormicks!  The kids play so well together and are such great friends!  As the kids get older it gets easier for us to relax and enjoy some adult time - it's not over relaxing yet as Jack still requires someone to run after him most of the time…..maybe next year!

Love these girls!

The kids weren't interested in a family picture….only eating ice cream!

Maple Grove Parade

Our neighbors invited us to come to the Maple Grove Parade this year.  It was on Thursday night and it sounded like it was going to be a crazy time.  We debated if we all would go but decided just Madelyn & I would go.  We had a great time!  Our neighbors were sweet enough to put a blanket and chair down for us during the day….otherwise we would have never been there early enough to get a decent spot.

The kids had a blast!  Madelyn took it all in - she was excited for the candy but half the time she was just looking around at all the stuff going by.  The neighbors had to pick up her bag so she would have it for the candy :)  They are so good to her!  The parade lasted until almost 9:00 and we didn't get home until close to 9:20.  Madelyn did great and was so excited to tell Ryan about it when we got home!  I think we will definitely be going back next year and I can't wait for Jack & Ryan to join us!

Bishop & Nora

Carla, Bishop & Nora came over for dinner last night.  Always so fun to see them but even more fun because we haven't seen them for quite a few weeks and they had just gotten back from their trip to Colorado!  They were so sweet and brought shirts back for the kids!  Super cute shirts!!!

The kids had a blast playing outside.  Colleen, our next door neighbor, set up races and the kids thought that was so fun.  They ran to different mailboxes and around the cul-de-sac.  I had no idea we would love our cul-de-sac this much!  It's awesome!!

The bummer part of the evening was that Bishop was stung by a wasp just as we were all coming inside.  Poor guy, it hurt a lot as you could tell he was in pain but within a few minutes he was feeling better and finished the night laughing with the girls as they all sang/danced to ring-around-the-rosy!

Fun night with family…..so blessed!

Love Bishop's smile….you could tell he was feeling better!
