When Madelyn was at my parent's house a couple weeks ago and she told my mom "Madelyn no more diapers". I asked my mom what she was going to do since Madelyn apparently decided that she was no longer going to wear diapers but she was no where near being potty trained! My mom had some pull ups so she put Madelyn in them. Madelyn loved being able to pull up/down her pull ups and she was very interested in going on the potty.
Last week we decided to send her to daycare in pull ups and see how things went. She would sit at daycare but her pull up was usually wet and she didn't go on the potty. One of her teachers said just put her in undies and see how it goes. I thought that was a little risky as she really had only gone 1-2 times on the potty and I wasn't sure she really knew she was going.
Well, I'm so glad we did that! We put her in undies after we got home from work/daycare and she has been dry the whole time! She loves going potty on the potty!
On Thursday (the 19th) I decided to send her to school in undies. Again I wasn't sure how that would go because when we are at home we are always asking Madelyn if she has to go potty - she wasn't to the point of telling us she has to go. She had a great first day!! She was dry all morning and even told the teachers when she had to go. She had 2 accidents in the afternoon but she had told the teachers she needed to go and then just didn't make it to the potty in time.
We are beyond proud of Madelyn and the progress she has made in 2 weeks! She has even been dry after naps and usually is in the mornings too. I'm not sure if it's beginners luck or if she is really waiting until she wakes up to go on the potty. Regardless we are excited and Madelyn is so excited too!
She has grown up so much in the last month!
