Celebrating Great Grandpa Arnie

Yesterday would have been Great Grandpa Arnie's 91st birthday…..and it's the first one that he isn't here to share with us.  We decided it would be fun to remember and celebrate Great Gpa Arnie so we planned a night out in his honor!

We picked up burgers & cupcakes and went to the park for a picnic.  Madelyn was so excited!  She asked all week when we were going and then she had questions like "is Great Gpa Arnie going to be there?  Where is heaven?  Is it far away?  How is he going to eat his cupcake?  Can we save him a cupcake? (obviously the cupcakes were of high concern!)  This is the first time she's asked questions.  We answered the best we could and she seemed satisfied with the answers.

It was a great night!  So fun to do something special to remember Arnie!  The kids had a blast and so did Ryan & I!  Even though I miss my Grandpa and his smile it's comforting to know that he's happy and no longer suffering……and that makes me happy.  Happy Birthday Grandpa - here or in heaven - we love you so much and we will always remember you!!!
